সৈয়দ জাহিদ হাসান বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ ধান গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউট (BRRI)-এ বৈজ্ঞানিক কর্মকর্তা (Scientific Officer) হিসেবে কর্মরত একজন নিবেদিতপ্রাণ কৃষি গবেষক। সিলেট কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর সম্পন্ন করা এই কৃষি গবেষকের মূল দক্ষতার ক্ষেত্র জলবায়ু-সহিষ্ণু আধুনিক কৃষি, ফসলের পুষ্টি ও বালাই ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং বালাইনাশক ও সারের রেগুলেটরি (নিবন্ধন ও নবায়ন) বিষয়ক কার্যক্রম। ইতিপূর্বে আন্তর্জাতিক উন্নয়ন সংস্থার জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন কর্মসূচি এবং দেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় কৃষি রাসায়নিক কোম্পানির R&D বিভাগে কাজ করায় পরিবেশ-বান্ধব ন্যানো-সার (Nano-fertilizer) নিয়ে গবেষণা ও মাঠপর্যায়ে এর টেকসই ব্যবহারে তার বিশেষ অভিজ্ঞতা রয়েছে। পেশাগত দায়িত্বের পাশাপাশি তিনি বাংলাদেশ জীববিজ্ঞান অলিম্পিয়াড এবং আন্তর্জাতিক জীববৈচিত্র্য সংস্থা GBIF (ডেনমার্ক)-এর এশিয়া অঞ্চলের প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে ভূমিকা রাখছেন।
আধুনিক কৃষি উদ্যোগ ‘মাই কৃষি’ (My Krishi)-তে একজন বিশেষজ্ঞ পরামর্শক হিসেবে সম্পৃক্ত হয়ে তিনি তার এই বহুমাত্রিক গবেষণা, আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির কলাকৌশল এবং রেগুলেটরি বিষয়ের অভিজ্ঞতাকে সরাসরি মাঠপর্যায়ে ছড়িয়ে দিচ্ছেন। এই প্ল্যাটফর্মের মাধ্যমে তিনি কৃষকদের আধুনিক ও সাশ্রয়ী ন্যানো-সারের সঠিক ব্যবহার, এলাকাভিত্তিক ও জলবায়ু-সহিষ্ণু ধানের জাত নির্বাচন এবং নিরাপদ ও কার্যকর উপায়ে বৈজ্ঞানিক বালাইনাশক প্রয়োগ সংক্রান্ত সরাসরি বিশেষজ্ঞ দিকনির্দেশনা ও পরামর্শ প্রদান করছেন; যা দেশের কৃষি ইন্ডাস্ট্রি ও কৃষকদের উৎপাদনশীলতা বৃদ্ধি ও টেকসই কৃষি চর্চায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রাখছে।

Syed Zahid Hasan is a dedicated agricultural researcher currently serving as a Scientific Officer at Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI). Having completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Sylhet Agricultural University, his core areas of expertise encompass climate-smart modern agriculture, location-specific rice production, crop nutrition, pest management, and agrochemical (fertilizer and pesticide) regulatory affairs, including registration and renewal processes. His prior experience with the climate change programs of international development organizations and the R&D division of a leading national agrochemical company has equipped him with specialized expertise in eco-friendly nano-fertilizer research and its sustainable field applications. Alongside his professional responsibilities, he actively contributes as a representative for the Asia region at the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF, Denmark) and serves the Bangladesh Biology Olympiad.
As an expert consultant for the modern agricultural initiative ‘My Krishi’, he channels his research insights, advanced technological information, and regulatory experience directly to the grassroots level. Through this platform, he provides farmers with specialized guidance and practical advice on the precise use of modern, cost-effective modern fertilizers, the selection of location-specific and climate-resilient rice varieties, and the safe, efficient, and scientific application of pesticides. His contributions play a vital role in driving productivity, fostering sustainability, and strengthening the overall agricultural industry and farming communities in Bangladesh.
